Wakefield Gilbert and Sullivan Society is a keen amateur performing arts society based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
We perform one full scale production each year as well as other smaller concerts and events.
We rehearse on Tuesday nights at College Grove Sports Club, Eastmoor Rd, Wakefield, WF1 3RR.

‘The Sorcerer’ – March 2011 – Come and join us!
The build up to our annual show at the Theatre Royal, Wakefield has started. Auditions will be held at College Grove Sports Club on Monday 6th September from 7.30pm. Music rehearsals with Jim Newby our MD, start on Tuesday 14th September. Anyone wishing to take part in the show or audition for a principal role should contact the society on contact@wakefieldgilbertandsullivan.org.uk . Mikado props and costume hire
Our Mikado costumes, acquired from Homburgs Costumiers, are now ready for hire. We have supplemented the chorus and principal outfits with ladies’ and gentlemen’s fans and shoes, ladies’ wigs, and gentlemen’s hats. See our Costume Hire page for more details and photos. ‘The Gondoliers’ – 2010
Our 2010 production of The Gondoliers was very well received and we had a great week. Thank you to everyone who came. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
